In April 2024, the Department of Justice issued a new rule under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which mandates digital accessibility requirements across higher education. If your college or university receives federal funding, your course and course materials are expected to be accessible starting as early as April 2026.
This one-hour workshop will:
- provide specific information about new Title II expectations and help you determine how they apply to you,
- show attendees how to make some of the most common course files accessible (PDF, PowerPoint, etc.),
- help faculty understand how and when to work with their institution’s accessibility services,
- and troubleshoot how to meet student needs and employer expectations.
Attendees will leave with resources to help them continue their accessibility work. Zoom link will be emailed to all CWSO members ahead of the event.

Gwendolyn Paradice is an Assistant Professor of English at Murray State University where she teaches creative writing. She holds degrees from University of Missouri (Ph.D.), Bennington College (M.F.A.), University of North Texas (M.A.), and University of North Texas (B.A.). In addition to teaching and publication, she serves provides leadership and advising to the CWSO, ensuring action, advocacy, and/or research, as well as adoption and promotion of our shared values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
